Stafford
Rambling
Group
is
a
voluntary
walking
group
which
is
affiated
to
the
Ramblers
.
We
are
an
active
group
catering
for
a
wide
range
of
walking
abilities,
with
a
programme
of
weekly
walks,
which
mostly
take
place
on
Sundays,
usually
alternating
between
morning
and
all-day
walks.
Morning
walks
are
approximately
5
miles
and
take
place
within
20
miles
radius
of
Stafford.
All
day
walks
are
usually
8
to
10
miles,
but
we
do
occasionally
try
something
more
ambitious
when
we
go
further
afield,
particularly
in
the
summer
months.
We
also
have
a
monthly
Amble
Ramble
which
is
shorter,
flatter
and
slower.
We
like
to
think
that
we
are
a
friendly
crowd
and
there
is
no
great
formality
about
joining
in
a
walk.
The
meeting
place
for
all
walks
is
at
the
start
of
the
walk.
This
information
is
available
from
the
walk
leader
the
contact
for which is communicate to members by email each Thursday morning.
if
you
would
like
to
join
us
on
our
walks
you
will
be
most
welcome,
please
email
your
contact details to
srg.information@gmail.com
to receive the necessary information.
The
committee
support
car
sharing
for
the
environmental
and
economic
benefits.
However,
it
has
decided
that
is
not
necessary
to
have
a
general
meeting
place
in
Stafford
as
lifts
can
be
arranged
successfully
beforehand
by
those
wishing
to
share
or need transport.
Passengers
receiving
a
lift
should
offer
to
share
the
travel
cost,
which
we
suggest
is
calculated at 30p per mile and shared by all in the car, including the driver.
What
do
you
need
to
take
with
you
on
a

We
organise
some
events
where
booking
is
usually
necessary,
including,
two
weekend
away
each
year
(one
around
Easter
and
the
other
in
October).
A
Christmas
meal,
at
least
one
coach
ramble
a
year
and
a
dinner
ramble,
when
we
have
a
meal
together
after the walk.
In
time
we
would
hope
you
will
lead
walks.
We
have
a
library
of
maps
that
you
can
borrow to help in planning these.
